The Pearl and Friends "My Ancestors' Wildest Dreams" Scholarship provides scholarships to students attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). We are passionate about increasing the quality of life for our next generation by affording scholarships to our future Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, Computer Scientists, and Much More.
We can’t achieve our goals on our own. We work together with businesses, government, nonprofits and individual contributions. Each partner plays a specific role in ensuring that our community has a brighter future.
Raegan Littles, a Charles E. Jordan High School graduate from Durham, NC, is heading to Hampton University this fall to pursue a Nursing degree. In high school, she excelled academically, summa cum laude and NC Academic Scholar honors, and volunteered at her church and community organizations. She also served as a National Ambassador for Brown Girls Do Ballet, Inc. At Hampton, Raegan aims to become a Women’s Health nurse practitioner, focusing on reducing racial disparities in maternal health.
Morgan Simpson, a graduate of International Leadership of Texas Keller-Saginaw, excelled academically and in leadership, finishing in the top 10% of her class. As head cheer captain, she showed outstanding leadership and secured sponsorships for her school’s care closet, aiding students in need. Morgan will attend Spelman College this fall to major in psychology, aiming to become a criminal defense attorney.
I'm Leah Smith, 18, from Bowie, MD. I graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School with a focus on science and technology, where I developed a passion for science and healthcare. This fall, I'll start pre-nursing at Florida A&M University. Over the summer, I interned at Children's National Hospital, shadowing nurses and learning about pediatric care. I aspire to become a pediatric nurse and am excited to make a meaningful impact in healthcare.
An academic, entrepreneur, and pragmatic prodigy, Madison Elizabeth Corzine is a sixteen-year-old dual-enrollment honor student. She graduated this spring with a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree. Madison is the inaugural recipient of the Michelle Obama Award for Memoir, reigning National Miss Juneteenth 2022-2023, and the co-founder of the nonprofit Pragmatic Prodigies. Madison plans to attend Spelman College, where she will double major in English and Political Science.
Logan Elyse Pinkston is a graduate of Maynard Jackson High School in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a scholar, leader, and community servant. Loganis a College Board National Recognition Program Scholar, a 2022 National JumpStart Competition winner, a 2023 Morgan Stanley Jumpstart Program Capstone winner and she has received recognition for her service to her community. Logan will be attending Howard University where she will major in International Business on the pre-law track.
Hello, my name is Laila Barnes and I am attending Spelman College in the Fall of 2023. I am a Health Sciences Major on a Pre-Med track to become a Cosmetic Surgeon. I graduated High School with a 4.0 GPA, number 11 of my graduation class, Class President with honors and dual enrollment course completion. I'm looking forward to enjoying college with the hopes of graduating at the top of the 2027 Spelman Class. My plan is to become a reconstructive surgeon focusing on clients with trauma wounds.
Olivia Brown is a high school graduate who will be attending Spelman college in the fall.
She will be pursuing a higher education in the field of political science and international studies
with the hope to become a civil rights and criminal defense attorney. She plans to spread hope
throughout her lifetime by leading programs and organizations, volunteering, and serving people
of marginalized and victimized communities.
Chanda Michelle Singh-Richardson is a graduate of Coral Reef Senior High School in Miami, Florida. Chanda is a scholar, published author, and community servant. She received a Silver Knight honorable mention for community service, is National Honor Society member, a Bright Future scholar, and was recognized by the College Board . Chanda will be attending Howard University where she will major in Legal Communications. She will then attend law school and become a civil rights attorney.
My name is Logan Abrya McIver and I am from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I graduated from Carolina Forest High School in June of 2022. Now, I am a first year biology pre-med major at THE Illustrious Hampton University where I am also continuing my athletic career.
